A developmental psychologist with degrees from Stanford and San Francisco State, Gil has written over 30 books and manuals in the areas of child development, parenting, group dynamics and human sexuality. His "Choices Or Chances?" educational program was adopted for use in all 50 states by the National Board of the YWCA and became the basis of the Emmy™ nominated ABC-TV documentary, “Sweet 16 and Pregnant.” Since 1996, Gil has been the Director of the California Writers’ Club annual Conference at Asilomar and is a knowledgeable and entertaining speaker, lecturer, and storyteller.
Called a “Hitchcock expert” by the San Francisco Chronicle, Gil’s presentation of WRITING WITH A MOVIEMAKER’S EYE uses numerous film clips to help you discover that “what makes movies work” can make your fiction and nonfiction writing work as well. Several handouts were provided.
